Sound Perfection: 180 Technology® by AWE:
As exhaust gases exit the Corvette’s 6.2L engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology® equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. Replaced stock mufflers with AWE Touring editions. What a difference! Not too loud and much throatier. Lots of angst trying to decide which Axle-Back kit to buy. Very satisfied with the AWE quality and fitment. The black tips really finishes off the backend of the car. About an hour and a half from start to finish taking it slowly and carefully.

This system replaced my stock SVT GT500 mufflers. I have no intention of putting headers on the car so these have the perfect sound for me. I’ve heard sound clips with headers and x-pipe and they are pretty loud. Keep that in mind. The welds are excellent. The installation is straight forward. Make sure to use a lubricant on the hangers as the forward pair go in from the opposite direction. Make sure to save the clamps from your stock pipes. You will need to reuse them. I took about 45 minutes removing the stock pipes and then about 45 minutes to install the AWE’s.

Installed with Roush H-Pipe on the 2015 mustang GT convertible. What a difference. My wife grins every time we start the car. Everyone else who has a stock mustang exhaust asks what we did to get this sound!
